Diary – Exhausted – Too Young for Dementia?

Wednesday 14th July 2021

You would think that as soon as my head hit the pillow last night, I would be straight to sleep. No that was not the case as I lie listening to the seagulls cawing loudly as they send out warning calls to protect their young. Eventually around 11pm they go quiet.

For some reason tonight my legs are aching and I’m very fidgety…very annoying as I can’t settle.

That’s it! Been in bed for way over an hour, sleep is definitely not happening, so off to the craft room.

I spend a couple of hours cutting out card decorations until… I would say feel tired, but that’s not the case. My body is exhausted but my brain is like a whirlwind!

Eventually after 2am I fall asleep only to wake at 5.00am, Now I’m tired as I make my way to the bathroom, Toby is getting so excited. I raise my hand with the stop sign and his head drops and wanders off slowly back to his bed…poor Toby “Sorry Pall”

Back to bed for me too, which is unusual. The next I know it’s 7.55am, no early walk for me and Toby today!

I did go for my walk late morning, a slow walk around the Nature Reserve.

Today I had a few issues with my camera as I had it on the wrong settings and because my brain is not in gear today it took me a while to realise.

Camera back into focus, and I’m off, click click, not as quick this morning! I’m working in slow motion today…Not good when trying to capturing moving birds and butterflies.

I do manage some shots, and too my surprise when I look through my photos on my return home, there are one or two decent ones.

I always think if I have at least one decent photo, I have achieved!

If I haven’t there are always plenty of other days 😊

Legend has it that when Christ was carrying the cross a goldfinch flew down and plucked one of the thorns from the crown around his head. Some of the blood splattered the birds head, hence why the goldfinch had a bright red face.

Apparently this little bird symbolises the importance of positivity and optimism, and the value of happiness, joy, and simplicity in your life. Well I will definitely go with that!

I will finish off my blog today with photos from my walk as photos are easier on my head than writing

The rest of my day has been slow…just trying to take things easy and relax
