Diary – Visiting Pendle

Monday January 24th 2022

Friday 21st January we set off early morning to pay a visit to Hubby’s Dad for his birthday and also call at my parents for a quick visit.

On our way home, Hubby decided to detour over the nick of Pendle, that’s Pendle Hill for those of you that are not familiar with Lancashire

Pendle Hill is a famous hill in Lancashire, association with the Pendle witches.

Me and Toby at the Top of Pendle Hill 2019

We have climbed Pendle Hill on many occasion, our last climb was 3 years ago just after I received my dementia diagnosis…don’t know if I would manage to climb Pendle now…Mmm then again who knows!

Nick O’Pendle is a high pass from Clitheroe to Sabden and is popular with walkers and cyclists. Today we are travelling by car…the easy option!

We did stop for a short while for me to take some photos of the surrounding areas. Not really dressed for the occasion, in my new white trainers and only a body warmer as my outdoor coat. I was freezing!

What a view!

We are 36 miles away but look what I can see when I zoom in with my camera…Blackpool Tower!

Wow, I can stand here and see where I was born (the Borough of Pendle) I can also see where I live now over 45 miles away in the Wyre Borough…How amazing is that!

We continue with our journey home, as I take photos along the way

Not brilliant at taking photos in a moving car especially on a winding road. Time to put the camera down.

The last photo taken was of the planes outside of BAE Systems Samlesbury

We arrive back home mid afternoon shattered. I am always so tired after visiting, yet I always have trouble sleeping.

Gives me plenty of time to catch up on my blog!

  1. I used to drive over Nick O’ Pendle a lot when my Mum lived in Cltheroe and we lived on the other side. Lovely area.
Can I be cheeky and ask what camera you have that you take all your beautiful photos with?
