Diary – One thing after another

Friday 15th March 2024

I’m not normally a negative person, sometimes life is hard!

What with bereavements and illnesses in the family

Over the last 4 or 5 weeks it just seems to be one thing after another.

Just as I receive good news, something comes along and knocks me off track again.

Life is complex
One thing after another it seems to be

Like a symphony of joy and sorrow,

Living through this ever-changing maze

Each chapter written, scribbled out, then unfurled
One thing after another, my symphony never ends
One thing after another.

Before me and hubby set off on our short break to the Lake District, we had major concerns for our grandson Harry

On the positive side, after 5 – 6 weeks of Harry being in hospital he finally received a diagnosis!
Harry has penetrative Crohn’s disease.

This is a life long illness, but now he has the diagnosis, hopefully he will receive the correct treatment.

It was explained to my daughter that Harry would be starting biologic treatment ASAP.

This will NOT cure Harry, but it will hopefully prevent his flare ups and reduce or prevent his symptoms.

Harry will still have to endure at least another 2-3 weeks in hospital, but we are now going in the right direction.

Then just when we thought things were looking up, the patient in the bed next to Harry contracted COVD!

Treatment now on hold as everyone has to be tested for Covid.

Friday Harry is vomiting again, another delay for the start of the treatment!

Sunday afternoon 4 days later than expected, at last Harry’s treatment started!

Monday 11th March – More positive news Harry’s Nasogastric tube has been removed. Harry back on the nutritional shakes.

Fingers crossed everything is now going the right way.

We are keeping everything crossed for Harry to return home in the next few weeks.
